After attending five different schools, I chose to get married instead of going back for my senior year. After ten years of marriage and four children I went back to school to finish my senior year. I grew up in Texas and attended Texas schools, but after my marriage, I moved all over the southern half of the United States. So when I decided to go back to school we were living in California. I attended Bakersfield Adult School to finish my senior year at the age of 29. I had a choice to make; I could either attend my graduation or go back to Texas and see my Mother whom I had not seen in several years. I choice to see my Mother.
Then I started taking classes at Bakersfield College and earned my AA degree in Psychology at the age of 35. I did attended the graduation exercises to get my AA. It was quite an experience. The service was held in an out-door theater at BC. A storm passed through during the exercise. Clouds came up and there was thunder and lightning and a sprinkle of huge rain drops pounded down on us for about thirty seconds. That was the most exciting, memorable event I have ever attended!!
During the next several years I started attending classes at California State University of Bakersfield. I attended classes majoring in Biology and earned my diploma in June 1991. That was over ten years ago and I think I have finished school.

Graduation at last!!!
My youngest grandson graduated high school this week. He chose not to walk across the stage and get his diploma with the other students. I told him he missed out on a rite of passage, but he did not care. His education has been quite saga. And I feel like I earned every grade he made and then some. He has a problem that almost cost him his education. No one could put a name to his problem, but everyone agreed that he has a problem. He could not do school class work or home work, so he had to be graded on his class participation and test scores. He failed so many classes and I took him out of public school and home schooled him for four and a half years. Then he went back into public school for three and one half years. At the end of his senior year he was 8 units shy of enough credits to graduate with his class. So he attended summer school for seniors who were short a few units to graduate. He completed the units and now has his diploma. Praise the LORD!!!

Today is slipping away fast. I had to go in and get my blood pressure checked and missed a call from my doctor's nurse. Seems like I need another operation. April of 2010 I had my left shoulder replaced, now I need an operation to fix my CTS as both wrist are bad; the right wrist is severe. The doctor said we could treat the pain, but it will only get worse over time. I am just so tired of hurting all of the time.
I plan to have a tooth removed next week. It is an extra tooth, a gift from my great grandmother Carrie Green McMullen. She grew in a full third set of teeth in her sixties. Apparently some grand children, great grand children, and even great-great grand children inherited only one or two each. My next to the oldest daughter got one. Mine came in partially on the side of my gum and over the years it has rotted and is now breaking off in pieces.
Oh, well, life goes on...

More Muses?
Today is a weird day. My friend who has pancreatic cancer was not home. I need to return several things.
I need to mail some birthday cards as my daughter, a very special friend, two new friends, and their four year old grandson have birthdays this week.
I am having trouble remembering my own name. No, that is not the problem. I can remember my name very well. It is what is going on around me that I can not remember two minutes later. Ask me about anything that happened years ago and I can give you the information in great detail. But here and now I feel as if I am somewhere else looking in. I am sleepy and I could probably sleep all day, but that is no way to live.
I went grocery shopping and spent about $11.00 and bought things only on my list. A gallon of milk, two boxes of green tea, 4 onions, two 4-packs of yogurt, a diet coke and chocolate covered mini marshmallows.
I need to take a walk, but if I do I will have an allergic reaction, as my neighbors have plants blooming in their yards that I am allergic to.

The last week of school year:
Yes it is the last week of school for the year of 2010-2011. It is a hard week for me. He did not graduate and will have to attend summer school at Bakersfield High School to finish those last 8 units and graduate. If he does attend and finishes he will get a Ridgeview Diploma like the one he would have gotten at Ridgeview High School had he finished with his class. What will be, will be.

April 12th, 2011
Today has been an unusual day. Seniors are having weird week as they do not take the State tests. The tests are given on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and this morning he asked me to clear his absence by saying "we had a family matter that needed to be taken care of." I think that he will have to come up with something better for tomorrow. He wanted to take a friend to lunch and she (also a senior) was not at school today either.

Sick days are no fun.
I have been sick.. that is saying a lot as other than allergies I never get sick. It will take this 70 yr old woman a day or two to recover. My sweet hubby (of 51 yr) brought me a coke zero and a sausage McMuffin from the dollar menu. It tasted so good and hurt so bad going down my raw throat. My stomach hurt when the food entered. I had not eaten anything since breakfast yesterday a.m. which I promptly proceeded to deposit all over the bathroom floor. Way more than needed to be said.

Sunday morning words
It is a chilly Sunday morning in the bottom of the San Joaquin Valley of central CA. I have had a busy week and am enjoying a quiet slow morning. I had my dose of crowds yesterday morning at the "Science Bowl" tournament at CSUB with my 18 yr grand son. I should be fine for several more months, but I still need a fix of "woman talk." That seems to be the one thing that I do not get enough. Almost every night I dream of being with my mother, and my sisters, my daughters, and my grand daughters. I crave female companionship. I live in a male dominated household, with my husband (74) of 51 years, my son (43), and my youngest grandson (17). So every once in a while I have to run away and seek out female company.

Pay It Forward.
I have become fascinated with this "Idea" so I want to play.
Pay It Forward
from Artfully Ooglebloops by ooglebloops
This "Pay It Forward" seems to be making its way around blogdom. I first saw it on Nathalie's blog, An Artist's Legacy, and decided I would love to play along! In order to be a recipient of one of her wonderful creations, I must pay it forward to someone else - actually, to 5 someone elses!!So, here are the rules, I hope there are 5 of you out here in blogdom who would like to "play" along!!!
Simple Rules:
I will create something handmade to the 1st five people who leave a comment on this post saying they would like to participate
. To be play along, you must be willing to repost this and do the same- offering something handmade to five other people.
All handmade "gifts" will be sent sometime in 2011- gives you alot of time!!!
I will try to get mine out in the next month or so - if I allow myself the whole year, I WILL forget!!!LOL

My "Still Life"
My thirteen year old grand daughter, EVC, said it really is not a "still life", but because I tried so hard, she will let it pass. This is the third "still life" I completed; numerous false starts were abandoned before they really got started.
A "Still Life" according to the instructor who gave the lesson in school for her class, is a drawing of people who are still--motionless. These people do not show any movement or motion. In my "still life" one person is holding his arm out.

Good afternoon World!
My little nap helped a lot. I am still sick. I should not have visited with my friend at her house on Saturday. My allergies went full blown and my poor body does not know when it is allergies and not a virus, so it reacts and I get sick. I feel like I have a serious head cold, my sinuses are clogged and my nasal passages are clogged with thick yellow mucus. I can not breathe and my throat is getting sore from all of the drainage.
This time it was cats and dogs inside the house. I can work with redwood, like making a box or something where I need to sand the the rough edges getting it ready to finish and have an allergy attack. The wind can blow and if I go out in the blowing dust, I have another allergy attack. Many flowers give me an allergy attack.
I stayed at my friend's house for about three hours, fifteen minutes might not have been as bad attack as I had.
That is my path in life. I must be careful where I tread. I am serious when I say that I may allergic to as much as 1/2 of everything on earth.
Peace, ruby
